RCBS Presents Blues and Brews at The Camel - the finest in local blues bands.

Next up: Josh Lief Blues Band. Friday, April 27, 5 PM, no cover charge.

Josh Lief started playing guitar when he was 6 years old. His style is a mixture of all the music he loved as a young musician. His influences started with his big three of Hendrix, Clapton, and Led Zeppelin. He also learned a lot of country-style lead guitar from being a huge Southern Rock fan as well as the classic country of Merle Haggard and Waylon Jennings. He is also a huge fan of Neil Young, the Allman Brothers and the Grateful Dead and they can be heard in his lead playing and writing. He can play a wide range of styles from rock to blues to country to folk.

The Josh Lief Blues Band is Josh on guitar and vocals with the rhythm section of Debbie Flood on drums and Tommy Dacat on bass. Deb and Tommy are veterans of several well known Richmond bands, and Deb has toured extensively as well as recorded with many artists. They're a great team and bring a solid yet exciting rhythm section to live performances. The band is currently working on a new album called “James River Blues”, recorded at Montrose Recording in Richmond, VA. The new album should be out in the summer of 2018.

The River City Blues Society of Virginia is organized exclusively for educational, literary, artistic and charitable purposes. We are a non-profit, volunteer-based organization dedicated to the promotion, preservation, and perpetuation of the Blues as an original American art form.
